HOW TO PREVENT UTI’s (urinary tract infections)

Prevent UTIs

Many people suffer from recurrent UTI’s and it sure compromises their quality of life. It is one of the worst feelings to burn while peeing. So here are few tips to prevent UTI’s or at least minimize the painful symptoms.

  1. Drink Plenty Of Fluids :
Increased water intake helps to decrease the number of bacteria in bladder and urethral tissue. It helps a lot to people who are more pone to recurrent UTI’s.
  2. Increase Vitamin C intake :
Vitamin C increases the acidity of urine and boosts your immunity so lesser infections and healthier urinary tract.
  3. Drink Cranberry Juice :
Cranberry juice has been found to increase the acidity of urine thus alleviates the burning sensation while urinating. It also has a good taste thus easier way to relieve the symptoms.
  4. Add D-Mannose in Your Routine :
Take D-Mannose supplements which contain agents similar to those found in cranberries. These agents do not allow bacteria to stick to urinary bladder and urethral wall thus minimizing UTI’s.
  5. Change Your Cleaning Habits :
Wipe from front to back after urinating to avoid contamination of urethra. Wiping back to front pushes the bacteria from anus into the urethra thus more UTI’s.
  6. Empty Your Bladder:
Empty your bladder timely. Do not hold the urge to urinate. Empty your bladder especially after sexual intercourse to flush out the bacteria.
  7. Do not use Sex Toys :
Sex toys can cause contamination easily by attracting more bacteria and disturbing the normal pH of urinary tract thus more UTI’s.
